About
I am drawn to the quiet tension within urban landscapes. My work begins with shadows - those fleeting, shifting forms that often go unnoticed. They catch my eye, become fixed in my memory, and shape the way I experience the world. Light and shadow create a framework through which I understand structure and space.
Cities captivate me. I’m drawn to their contrast - the energy and the overwhelm, the movement and the still moments in between. I search for simplicity within complexity, isolating moments of calm through abstraction and reduction. My process starts with observation: noticing how a shadow falls; how light transforms architecture into shape; and how colour vibrates against concrete.
I crop, frame and focus in. Like a game of ‘I spy’, I’m drawn to fragments - windows, doorways, frames and outlines - which I translate into a visual language. I create work that captures transient moments and transforms them into something lasting and harmonious. An angular, colourful pause.
