Rhiannon creates drawings and paintings inspired by architecture/urban landscape that are a love letter to cities. She grew up between two distinct geographic locations in the UK and drawing became a processing tool to adapt to moving between them. This dualism and fragmentation can be clearly seen in her drawings and paintings. There is an ambiguity to lines and edges being boundaries or points of connection. The repetitive nature of drawing with colour pencils is a meditative practice. The deliberate rhythm allows her to create a reflective space and sense of harmony in the making process itself. 

What captivates her is the disparity between historic preservation, urban regeneration and the liminal spaces between. The imprints of buildings in a state of semi-demolition, leaving bathroom tiles high up on the side of a wall or the remains of rafters casting long shadows over weathered walls. These images stayed with her and have become part of her own visual narrative.  

She invites viewers to see everyday and overlooked spaces with a sense of novelty and joy; to look for the beauty in the patterns of shadows, light and reflections. Capturing the transient and dynamic brilliance found in corners of cities as they are constantly reinvented and repurposed. 

Her upcoming joint show PERSPECTIVES with Veronika Rudez will be held at MONT; in a neighbourhood stretching back to the Late Middle Ages and a stones throw from the Roman sepulchral grounds of Plaça de la Vila de Madrid.
